Before & After 48"x48"

48"x48" Paper & Acrylic on Canvas (Painted Gallery Wrap)

I am attracted to the illusion of decomposing layers exposing the various colors and rhythms that come through.  It reminds me of "beauty in entropy" that is so evident in my home town of New Orleans. The "before" being the sections where all of the layers still look shiny and new and the "after" is the ripping away to reveal what's underneath; like layers of paint and stucco from a French Quarter wall exposing european tile in patterns beneath.  What happened during that time? Whose story is told there? Sometimes it's the feeling of mysterious questions that I'm attracted to.
